This taste just like the burbon chicken you get at mall food courts...but much healthier. *Serving Tips:Serve over hot brown rice or Bulgar and ENJOY. Great with steamed brocolli.

Ingredients For healthy burbon chicken

  • 1 1/2 lb
    boneless chicken breasts , cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    olive oil (i used one tbsp.)
  • 1 clove
    garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp
    ginger
  • 3/4 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 c
    unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/3 c
    light brown sugar (i used plain splenda)
  • 2 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp
    cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    soy sauce
  • 1 sm
    red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 sm
    onion, diced

How To Make healthy burbon chicken

  • 1
    Heat oil in a large skillet.
  • 2
    Add chicken pieces w/ pepper & onion and cook until lightly browned. Remove chicken.
  • 3
    Add remaining ingredients, heating over medium Heat until well mixed and dissolved. Add chicken and bring to a hard boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
