Salad is delicious hot or cold.

THIS HAS MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS BUT I DON"T LIKE TO USE THE MICROWAVE.

Ingredients

  • 4 c
    chicken..chopped &cooked
  • 1 can(s)
    (8oz)crushed pineapple in natural juice,drained
  • 1 small
    apple,chopped
  • 1
    rib celery,chopped
  • 1 small
    onion,chopped
  • 1/2 c
    green bell pepper,chopped
  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 2 c
    honey almond delight brand cereal,crushed to 1 cup
  • 1 Tbsp
    margarine or butter

How to Make Hawaiin Chicken Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
    In a 1&1/2 quart baking dish,combine chicken,pineapple,apple,celery,onion,and green pepper.
  2. In a small bowl,combine mayonnaise,salt and ginger.
    Add to chicken mixture,stirring until well combined.
    In a separate bowl,combine cereal and butter.
    Sprinkle evenly over chicken
  3. bake 25-30 minutes.
  4. MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS:
    Follow directions above using 1..1/2 quart microwave-safe dish;EXCEPT do not sprinkle cereal over chicken mixture prior to initial cooking.
    Microwave on high(100% power),covered,4 minutes;stir.
    Sprinkle cereal evenly over chicken mixture. Microwave on high 2 to 2-1/2 minutes until hot.
