fresh fruit bowl

Saw some great deals on fruit this week so I decided to make this fruit bowl for my family- to eat as they wish or to add it as a side along with a tuna sandwich, turkey burger, or ice cream....etc. Very refreshing and colorful.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 small personal size seedless watermelon, rind removed and melon cut into bite size
  • 1/2 small muskmelon(orange in color), rind removed and cut into bite size
  • 3 medium peaches, pitted and cut into bite size
  • 1 cup green sweet grapes,leave whole
  • 1 cup sweet black cherries, pitted, cut in 1/2
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice

How To Make fresh fruit bowl

  • Step 1
    Slice the 1/2 melons into small slices and remove seeds and rind. Cut cherries in 1/2 and remove pits. Cut peaches in 1/2 and remove pits. Slice and cut into bite size pieces into a small bowl , combine peaches with the juice and sugar and stir to coat evenly;set aside.
  • Step 2
    Layer pieces of each fruit into a large bowl. You may add other fruits also if desired; such as apple slices added to the peach mixture before adding to fruit bowl. Add strawberries or kiwi,pieces.
  • Step 3
    Chill, keeping ice cold and serving alone or with your favorite sandwich or dinner as a side dish or dessert with a scoop of ice cream or sherbet.
