Easy Pot Pie

My family thoroughly enjoyed this for dinner.
I love the fact that the crust in made with whole wheat flour and that there are no canned soups in the filling.

  • 2 Tbsp
    dry minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 c
    whole wheat flour ( i use freshly ground)
  • 2 c
    chicken broth
  • 2 c
  • 2-3 c
    cooked, chopped chicken
  • 1 lb
    frozen mixed vegetables(peas, carrots & corn)
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp

  • 1 1/2 c
    whole wheat flour ( i used freshly ground)
  • 2 1/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1/2 c
    butter melted

How to Make Easy Pot Pie


  1. Saute the flour, onion & garlic powder in some olive oil or butter for a few minutes.
  2. Gradually stir in the milk & broth using a whisk to break up lumps.
  3. Stir until the mixture boils allowing mixture to boil for 1 minutes.
  4. Stir in the chicken, vegetables, salt & pepper.
  5. Pour this mixture into greased 13x9 baking dish or into 2 round, glass pie plates.
  6. In a blender combine the crust ingredients.
  7. Pour over filling making sure to cover it completely.
  8. Bake it at 350' for about 45 minutes or until golden.
