easy jambalaya

I often make this dish for potlucks and always come home with an empty dish. It is economical and easy to make. Not only that, but it is delicious and will have everybody asking you for the recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 medium green peppers, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 - chicken breats, cooked and chopped
  • 2 - 16 oz packages hillshire farm or louis rich sausage (kielbasa, turkey, or chicken)
  • 2 cans campbells french onion soup
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 3 cups uncooked long grain white rice
  • 4-5 teaspoons creole seasoning
  • 1-2 cup frozen or fresh shrimp (optional)
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (optional)

How To Make easy jambalaya

  • Step 1
    In a large dutch oven, saute onion and green pepper in oil over medium heat until limp.
  • Step 2
    slice or dice sausage and add to onion and green pepper. Cook for 1 minute. Add the creole seasoning, soups, chicken, and uncooked rice. Cover and simmer until rice is cooked and liquid is evaporated, about 20 minutes.
  • Step 3
    If desired add shrimp and heat through until pink in color. May garnish with cilantro
