This recipe is sure to please especially for you couples that are both working and you are tired and don't want to do another thing! Have a tossed salad ready in the frige. Put your rice on to cook, put you some crusty bread in the oven, set the table and you are good to go. When your tummy's are full have fun cleaning up the kitchen together.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 can 14 1/2-ounce diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1/2 cup fully cooked sausage, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme leaves, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon cajun seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper
  • 6 ounces uncooked deveined, peeled shrimp, thaw if frozen
  • 1 cup rice, cooked and hot

How To Make crockpot creole jambalaya for two - dee dee's

  • Step 1
    In 2 1/2- to 3 1/2-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except shrimp and rice.
  • Step 2
    Cover and cook on low heat setting 7 to 8 hours or until vegetables are tender.
  • Step 3
    Stir in shrimp. Cover and cook on low heat setting about 30 minutes or until shrimp are pink and firm. Serve over rice. Also, serve with a salad and some crusty bread.
