I get 2 cup covered containers from the dollar store. This recipe will fill 7 of them. I have Chihuahua's (2) and one container yields 2 meals per dog. I make enough for the week and freeze some.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


3 lb
chicken thighs and legs
1 can(s)
diced carrots or 1 cup fresh carrots, diced
1 can(s)
diced potatoes or 1 cup fresh potatoes, diced
1 c
rice, white or brown
1 can(s)
chicken or turkey gravey
1 Tbsp
garlic powder
1 Tbsp
1 Tbsp
onion flakes


1Boil all of the chicken, cool, then remove all of the skin and bones. Cut chicken into small pieces.
2Put the de-boned chicken in the crock pot followed by carrots, potatoes, gravy and spices. Put the rice in and add 1 cup of water to the mix.
3Mix well. Set on low for 4 hours. Stir well and put in covered containers.
