Love this recipe for so many reasons. For starters no heating up the oven, it's made in the crock pot. Also, I think it's a little healthier than using pork. Finally, it just tastes great!

Ingredients

  • 3 lb
    chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 2 c
    celery, diced
  • 1 medium
    onion, diced
  • 1
    red bell pepper, diced
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 c
    ketchup
  • 2 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • 2 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    salt

How to Make Ciao Bella Shredded BBQ Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Steam chicken and cut into cubes. (You can take a short here and use store bought rotisserie too.) I like to steam mine to retain some moisture.
  2. Combine cubed chicken and all other ingredients in a crock pot.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  4. Stir chicken until it shreds. Serve on any kind of rolls.
