Chicken Salad Sandwich with Havarti Cheese

If you love Havarti cheese this sandwich is right up your ally-- with a combination of sour cream, curry, apple nuts, lime juice, onion and chicken- this sandwich recipe from the Wisconsin Milk and cheese board is bound to please any hungry fan.

    dairy sour cream
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 Tbsp
    lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    red curry paste,optional
  • 1 tsp
    fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 c
    cooked chicken, diced small
  • 1/4 c
    sweet onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 c
    green apple, diced small
  • 1/4 c
    sliced almonds
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

    leaves of boston or butter lettuce
  • 4 oz
    wisconsin havarti, sliced or dill havarti (my favorite)

How to Make Chicken Salad Sandwich with Havarti Cheese


  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, curry paste and basil until well blended. Add chicken, onion, apple and almonds; season with salt and pepper; mix well . Refrigerate until ready to use.
    Split croissants. Place lettuce, chicken salad and Havarti cheese on the bottom half of croissant. Place second half on top. Enjoy!!
