I love slowcooking in the fall & winter. I freeze leftovers in (generous!) single serving microwaveable containers for quick lunches or suppers. Jim(my hubby) really likes this one! I'll put up a foto as soon as I figure out how!!!

  • 3 to 4 lb
    chicken, cooked and cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1 can(s)
    chicken broth, low salt
  • 2 can(s)
    favorite beer
  • 8 oz
    fresh baby carrots
  • 8 oz
    fresh or frozen wax beans
  • 8 oz
    fresh or frozen sweet corn
  • 1 medium
    yellow crooked neck squash pealed and chunked,
  • 1 medium
    chopped onion
  • 8 oz
    fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 1/2 c
    sugar-free maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 2 Tbsp
    sage, dried
  • 1 large
    peeled, cored and chopped red apple
  • 1/2 c
    whole wheat flour
  • ·
    fresh ground black pepper to taste

How to Make Chicken Harvest Stew


  1. Put all ingredients in large slowcooker on high for @ 3 hours.
  2. Reduce to low and cook for another 2 hours.
  3. Turn slowcooker to warm and serve with buttered bread slices when ready to eat. Enjoy!
