A very easy dish to prepare, and you can have it on the table in a quick 40 minutes. But do not let the quick time fool you… It’s bursting with great flavor.

Serve with your favorite side dishes, and don’t forget to drizzle some of that yummy sauce over the top.

Ingredients

  • PLAN/PURCHASE

  • 5 Tbsp
    sweet butter, unsalted (if you have clarified butter, use it)
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 medium
    boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 8 ounces
  • 1 sprig(s)
    fresh rosemary, just the leaves
  • 1 tsp
    capers, with juice
  • ·
    salt, kosher variety, to taste
  • ·
    black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • 2 slice
    provolone cheese

How to Make Chicken Essentials: Baked Garlic/Butter Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. PREP/PREPARE
  2. Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
  3. Place the butter into a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
  4. When the butter has melted and the foaming subsides, add the minced garlic, and the capers.
  5. Chef's Note: Reduce the heat to low, and allow to slowly cook with the butter, about 4 – 5 minutes.
  6. Add the leaves from the rosemary, and continue to cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to 375f (190c).
  8. While the butter, garlic, capers, and rosemary are getting to know each other, lightly oil an ovenproof dish.
  9. Sprinkle the chicken breasts with a bit of salt and pepper, and then place them in the dish.
  10. Pour the garlic/caper, butter, and rosemary mixture over the chicken.
  11. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 160f (70c), about 25 – 30 minutes.
  12. Remove from the oven, and add with the cheese.
  13. Pop under a hot broiler until the cheese begins to bubble, and turn brown in spots, about 1 – 2 mintes.
  14. PLATE/PRESENT
  15. Plate the chicken with your favorite sides (sautéed spinach, baked mushrooms), and then drizzle on a bit of that yummy sauce. Enjoy.
  16. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
