fryers
1 medium
whole onion
1 medium
whole carrot
2 tsp
salt
1/2 c
butter
1/2 c
minced onion
1 c
minced celery
1 1/2
loaves bread
2 tsp
poultry seasoning
2 can(s)
cream of chicken soup
1 large
can evaporated mlik
bread crumbs

How to Make CHICKEN AND DRESSING COMPANY CASSEROLE

Step-by-Step

  • 1Place fryers, whole onion, carrot and salt in a large kettle. Pour in 2 quarts water, cook until fryers are tender. Remove fryers from broth cool. Reserve broth.
  • 2Remove skins and bones from chicken, cut chicken into bite size pieces.
  • 3Melt butter in frypan. Add minced onion, and celery saute until transparent.
  • 4Break bread into small pieces, add sauteed vegetables and poultry seasoning. Add enough reserved broth to moisten.
  • 5Mix soup and milk until smooth. Place bread mixture in greased casserole pour in half the soup mixture.
  • 6Arrange chicken over soup mixture add remaining soup mixture. cover with bread crumbs
  • 7Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 30 minutes.
