Ingredients
- 1 - broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 3 large carrots, scraped and cut into julienne strips
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
- 2/3 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/3 cup orange marmalade
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
How To Make chicken a l'orange

Step 1Brown the chicken pieces in melted butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2Combine the salt, ginger, and pepper in a small bowl; stir well, and sprinkle over the chicken. Add the carrot strips and onion rings to the chicken.

Step 3Combine the orange juice and cornstarch in a medium bowl, stirring well. Add the orange marmalade, brown sugar, and lemon juice to the orange juice mixture; stir well.

Step 4Pour the orange juice mixture over chicken and vegetables. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes or until the chicken is done.
