- 3 tablespoons asian fish sauce
- 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 small onion or shallot cut into thin slices
- 1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes or 4-7 thai chili's minced
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups fresh basil, lightly packed
How To Make basil garlic chicken
-
Step 1In a medium bowl, combine the fish sauce, soy sauce, water, and sugar stir to mix well. Add the chicken and stir well to coat. Set aside.
-
Step 2In a large nonstick pan or a wok heat the oil over medium high heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Stir in the red pepper flakes and garlic, cook, stirring 30 seconds or until fragrant.
-
Step 3Remove the chicken from the marinade with a slotted spoon and add it to the hot pan. Cook until almost done, stirring, 3-5 minutes. Add the remaining marinade and cook a minute longer. Turn the heat down to low and mix in the basil, stirring until just wilted.
