Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons catsup
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- - slices of lemon
- 4 tablespoons cold water
- 2 tablespoons lea & perrins sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar (more if desired)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
How To Make barbecue sauce for chicken or ribs

Step 1Put all ingredients into a sauce pan and boil for 15 minutes. Allow to cool before using. (Keep unused sauce in the refrigerator.)

Step 2For Chicken or ribs: bake 15 minutes at 500°, then lower temperature to 350° and continue to bake at least 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Step 3Add the barbecue sauce during the last 20 or 30 minutes of cooking. On the barbecue grill, cook until nearly done, then add the sauce. It will burn easily, keep a close eye on the meat after adding the barbecue sauce.
