anita's southern barbecue
We just had this at my daughter's house in Indianapolis. Her husband thinks it's the BEST BARBECUE RECIPE EVER! I found it delightful. She used boneless chicken breasts, but it would work well with any cut of meat. We had it with grilled bell peppers and fried potatoes & onions. And of course, sweet tea!

Ingredients
- SAUCE
- 1 1/2 cups (12 oz) rc cherry cola
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic (from a jar)
- 1/4 cup sweet hot mustard
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1-2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mrs. dash southwest chipotle seasoning
- 1/2 tablespoon honey mustard dipping sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chipotle flavored hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- MEAT
- 2 pounds chicken pieces, pork chops, or sliced beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon mrs. dash southwest chipotle seasoning
How To Make anita's southern barbecue
-
Step 1Mix sauce ingredients well with a whisk in a large bowl.
-
Step 2Rub the other tablespoon of Mrs. Dash into the pieces of meat. Arrange on a plate and pour 1/2 cup of the sauce over the meat to marinate about 15 minutes. Turn once.
-
Step 3Grill meat on a slow heat grill, dipping each piece in remaining sauce and turning every 2 – 3 minutes. Dip and turn, dip and turn, until meat is done. The trick to this is to keep dipping and turning the pieces of meat every 2-3 minutes.
-
Step 4Boil leftover sauce until thick and well-cooked, 6-7 minutes, to serve with the meat.
