I have recently joined the Air Fryer Cooks and I am having so much fun cooking up recipes with my new air fryer. I have the very large 10 qt size of a NuWave and I really suggest that you buy the biggest you can because you need to give your food plenty of room to cook. Having an air fryer saves time and best of all keeps the calories lower and the kitchen cooler. Which is especially nice on a hot summer day.

This air fryer chicken is so juicy and healthy. It is fall off the bone good. The skin is crispy and filled with great flavor from the spices. It's easy to prepare but tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen. A great chicken air fryer recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 medium chicken
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika, sweet mild
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme, dried
- 1 sprig rosemary sprigs
- 1 stalk sage leaves, fresh
- 1/2 medium lemon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
How To Make air fryer rotisserie chicken
Test Kitchen Tips
If your air fryer does not have the rotisserie skewer (ours does not) and you cook it in the basket, make sure to flip the chicken halfway through cooking.

Step 1First, rinse chicken and rub dry. Make sure to dry it or you will have a steamed chicken and it will not crisp.

Step 2Rub with olive oil and season the chicken all over. Let sit at room temperature for 45 minutes before cooking.

Step 3Next, squeeze your lemon inside the chicken and add the butter before tying shut. You will need to tie your chicken up with kitchen string. I pre-wet mine, then I tie 2 strips around the whole chicken to pull it kinda tight so it has room to rotate on the rotisserie and holds together well.

Step 4Get out the rotisserie skewer and slide the chicken on it next slide the ends on both ends. If your air fryer doesn't have a rotisserie skewer, you can place it in the fry basket and still cook it the same. Place the chicken breast side down in the fry basket.

Step 5Next, follow directions on your fryer for setting it to cook. I set mine to the Rotisserie settings temp 350, cook time 1 hour. For this chicken, I cooked it 1 hour and 30 minutes but I checked it at 1 hour.

Step 6Test the chicken with a thermometer for proper doneness (165 degrees). Let rest for 20 minutes before serving. If you do not have fresh herbs, use dried and adjust the amounts a little less for your flavor choice.
