air fryer essentials: crispy thighs and fries
Nothing pretentious going on with this recipe; just simple ingredients and great taste. Full Stop. I am making these in my air fryer, but you could just as easily throw them into the oven. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- PLAN/PURCHASE
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
- 2 large chicken thighs, skin on, bone in
- 1/2 cup flour, all-purpose variety
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried variety
- 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried variety
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
- 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Step 2Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).

Step 3Chef’s Note: To Brine, or not to Brine… That is the Question. When it comes to brining I usually like to brine chicken and/or pork, because it adds some flavor, and keeps the pork or chicken moist during the cooking process.

Step 4Chef’s Tip: To make sure that your chicken thighs have a crispy skin, allow them to sit uncovered in the fridge for about two hours, before covering in the oil, and spices.

Step 5Coat the chicken thighs in the olive oil.

Step 6Add all the spices, and flour to a bowl, and then coat the chicken thighs in the mixture.

Step 7Add to the basket of your air fryer.

Step 8Cook at 375f (190c), for 20 minutes.

Step 9Flip the chicken, and continue to cook for an additional 6 minutes.

Step 10Flip one more time, raise the heat to 400f (205c), and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 11PLATE/PRESENT

Step 12Serve with some fries (I used my homemade potato puffs), and a bit of ketchup. Enjoy.
