Spice up the plain tuna burger.

(7 oz. each) solid white albacore tuna, drained and flaked
2 large
eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 c
crushed tortilla chips (white or yellow corn)
1/4 c
chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 c
finely diced red bell pepper (seeded)
1 Tbsp
lemon juice
1 Tbsp
taco seasoning mix
1/4 c
vegetable oil
hamburger buns, toasted
1 c
shredded lettuce
1/4 c
mayonnaise, optional
1/4 c

How to Make Southwest Tuna Burgers


  • 1In a large bowl, combine tuna, eggs, tortilla chips, cilantro, bell pepper, lemon juice and taco seasoning. Stir well. Refrigerate for 1 hour (this makes it easier to form patties). Shape into 4 patties.
  • 2Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add patties and and cook 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  • 3Serve on buns with shredded lettuce, mayo and salsa.
