Ingredients

  • 2 cans (7 oz. each) solid white albacore tuna, drained and flaked
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup crushed tortilla chips (white or yellow corn)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper (seeded)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 - hamburger buns, toasted
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise, optional
  • 1/4 cup salsa

How To Make southwest tuna burgers

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combine tuna, eggs, tortilla chips, cilantro, bell pepper, lemon juice and taco seasoning. Stir well. Refrigerate for 1 hour (this makes it easier to form patties). Shape into 4 patties.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add patties and and cook 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  • Step 3
    Serve on buns with shredded lettuce, mayo and salsa.
