My mom was always trying to find a new way to cook ground meat when we were growing up. This is one of her concoctions. Pretty tasty when cooked on the grill!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced small
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 - tablespoons each: bread crumbs, dried parsley
  • 1 - teaspoon each: salt and pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 - teaspoons each: dried oregano, rosemary
  • 4 - toasted hamburger buns
  • 4 - slices of mozzarella cheese
  • 4 - slices of tomatoes
  • 4 - lettuce leaves
  • - ketchup, mustard, pickles

How To Make mama's italian burgers

  • Step 1
    Mix ground beef with onion, garlic powder, bread crumbs, parsley, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and rosemary.
  • Step 2
    Form into 4 patties.
  • Step 3
    I think these are best when cooked on the grill, about 4 minutes a side. They may also be pan fried.
  • Step 4
    Place burgers on buns. Top with cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. Serve with ketchup, mustard and pickles.
