greek turkey burgers with spiced yogurt sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey (i use the thigh mead, not as dry as the breast when cooked)
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese crumbles
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (or to taste)
  • - salt, to taste
  • 4 - hamburger buns, toasted (i use whole-wheat)
  • - lettuce, tomato slices and cucumber slices, for topping (optional)

How To Make greek turkey burgers with spiced yogurt sauce

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combine turkey, feta, oregano, thyme and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Shape into 4 patties.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet on medium heat until hot. Add the patties and cook 5 minutes per side, or until burgers are cooked through.
  • Step 3
    Season yogurt to taste with cumin, salt and remaining pepper.
  • Step 4
    Serve the burgers on the buns and top each with 1 tablespoon of the yogurt mixture. Garnish with toppings, if desired.
