  • PLAN/PURCHASE
  • 2 tablespoons sweet butter, unsalted
  • 2 cups homemade chili
  • 12 ounces homemade biscuit dough
  • 6 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded

How To Make yummy essentials: biscuit, chili, & cheese skillet

  • Step 1
    PREP/PREPARE
  • Step 2
Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
  • Step 3
If you have a cast-iron skillet… use it. The one that I used was an 8-inch (20cm) skillet. The size of the skillet will determine the amount of chili you use. Ideally, you should have one inch (2.5cm) of chili in the bottom of the skillet.
  • Step 4
You can use store-bought chili, and biscuits, if you want. However, here are the two recipes for chili, and biscuits that I used: https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/sauce-spread/other-sauce-spread/awesome-coney-sauce.html?r=29 https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/bread/biscuits/awesome-cast-iron-buttermilk-biscuits.html#page1:comment2342125
  • Step 5
Place the butter into the skillet, over medium heat.
  • Step 6
Allow to melt until the foaming subsides.
  • Step 7
    Add the chili.
  • Step 8
    Add the cheese.
  • Step 9
Roll the biscuit dough into 1-ounce balls, and place on top.
  • Step 10
Place into the preheated oven, and bake until the biscuits are a wonderful golden brown, about 25 – 30 minutes.
  • Step 11
    PLATE/PRESENT
  • So yummy
    Step 12
Serve in the skillet, and allow your guests to scoop out what they want. Trust me, it will not last very long. Enjoy.
  • Step 13
Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
