chopd meat (i use chopd turkey)

egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
black pepper
1/2 c
matzo meal
3 Tbsp
vegetable shortening
1 medium
onion, chopd
3/4 c
red wine (dry concord wine)
1 can(s)
tomato n mushroom sauce (i used reg tom sauce n 1/4 cup chopd mushrooms)

How to Make YOM TOV MEATBALLS

Step-by-Step

  • 1SOAK BROKEN MATZO IN 1/3 CUP OF WATER UNTIL ABSORBED. COMBINE WITH CHOPD MEAT, EGG, SALT N PEPPER. FORM MIXTURE INTO ABOUT 25-30 MEATBALLS...THE SIZE OF A WALNUT THEN ROLL IN MATZO MEAL.
  • 2HEAT SHORTENING IN LARGE PAN ADD MEATBALLS N ONION COOK OVER MED HEAT TILL LIGHTLY COLORED ON ALL SIDES.
  • 3IN SMALL BOWL COMBINE REMAINN INGREDIENTS N POUR OVER MEATBALLS... COVER N SIMMER FOR 15 MINUTES N ENJOY :)
