    chopd meat (i use chopd turkey)
  • 1
    matzo board
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 c
    matzo meal
  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable shortening
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopd
  • 3/4 c
    red wine (dry concord wine)
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato n mushroom sauce (i used reg tom sauce n 1/4 cup chopd mushrooms)

How to Make YOM TOV MEATBALLS

Step-by-Step

  1. SOAK BROKEN MATZO IN 1/3 CUP OF WATER UNTIL ABSORBED. COMBINE WITH CHOPD MEAT, EGG, SALT N PEPPER. FORM MIXTURE INTO ABOUT 25-30 MEATBALLS...THE SIZE OF A WALNUT THEN ROLL IN MATZO MEAL.
  2. HEAT SHORTENING IN LARGE PAN ADD MEATBALLS N ONION COOK OVER MED HEAT TILL LIGHTLY COLORED ON ALL SIDES.
  3. IN SMALL BOWL COMBINE REMAINN INGREDIENTS N POUR OVER MEATBALLS... COVER N SIMMER FOR 15 MINUTES N ENJOY :)
