THIS IS A DISH MY MOM WOULD PREPARE FOR EVERY PASSOVER SEDER MEAL. MY HUSBAND LOVES THEM...AN EASY N UNIQUE FLAVA :)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chopd meat (i use chopd turkey)
  • 1 - matzo board
  • 1 - egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup matzo meal
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 1 medium onion, chopd
  • 3/4 cup red wine (dry concord wine)
  • 1 can tomato n mushroom sauce (i used reg tom sauce n 1/4 cup chopd mushrooms)

How To Make yom tov meatballs

  • Step 1
    SOAK BROKEN MATZO IN 1/3 CUP OF WATER UNTIL ABSORBED. COMBINE WITH CHOPD MEAT, EGG, SALT N PEPPER. FORM MIXTURE INTO ABOUT 25-30 MEATBALLS...THE SIZE OF A WALNUT THEN ROLL IN MATZO MEAL.
  • Step 2
    HEAT SHORTENING IN LARGE PAN ADD MEATBALLS N ONION COOK OVER MED HEAT TILL LIGHTLY COLORED ON ALL SIDES.
  • Step 3
    IN SMALL BOWL COMBINE REMAINN INGREDIENTS N POUR OVER MEATBALLS... COVER N SIMMER FOR 15 MINUTES N ENJOY :)
