Ingredients

  • 8 - all-beef wieners (cut into thirds)
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (can use 1-cup white and 3/4-cup whole wheat)
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk

How To Make "wiener roll-ups"...from a recipe buddy

  • Step 1
Mix dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or 2-knives. Stir in sour cream and milk and mix, only until a ball forms. Using a little flour, roll out the dough and cut into strips, the width of the wiener pieces. Cut each strip into squares, just large enough to roll around the wiener piece.
  • Step 2
Roll up a piece of wiener in each square and place seam side down on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes. Serve with your choice of mustard, catsup, a salad or a good bowl of homemade soup. MAKES: 24 rolls
