On LI, New York..there is a hamburger fast food restaurant named Wendy's, that makes the absolute BEST Chili!!

Many years ago, a local radio station gave out the recipe, and this is it!!

I make it all the time, I am truly addicted to it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Ingredients

ground beef

29 oz can of tomato sauce

29 oz can of pinto beans with liquid

29 oz can of red kidney beans with liquid
1 c
onion, diced

green chilis, diced

celery stalk, diced

medium tomatoes, chopped
2 tsp
cumin powder
3 Tbsp
chili powder
1 1/2 tsp
black pepper
2 tsp
salt
2 c
water

How to Make Wendy's Chili

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown ground beef in a large skillet, drain well, and crumble beef with a fork.
  • 2In a large saucepot, combine beef, and all ingredients in order listed.
  • 3Bring to a simmer, and cook, uncovered, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2-3 hours. When chili is done, spoon into bowls and top with diced onion, shredded cheddar cheese, or sour cream, as desired.
