traditional meat loaves

One of my favorite individual meat loaf recipes! My Dad gave it to me many years ago.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 small zucchini, shredded
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fne
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed (more if you like it)
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning for extra flavor (opt)

How To Make traditional meat loaves

  • Step 1
    Preheat Oven to 400. Line 15 1/2 x 10 1/2" jelly roll pan with parchment paper or foil. (I use my half-sheet pan also.)
  • Step 2
    In nonstick skillet (12") heat butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook till tender. Add garlic & cook a minute longer.Cool a little.
  • Step 3
    In large bowl (with your hands) mix turkey, beef, eggs, zucchini, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Add cooked onion mixture and combine thoroughly.
  • Step 4
    Shape into 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" loaves. Bake 25-35 minutes at 400 till browned on the ouside.I use my Weight Watcher's 1/2 cup measure serving spoon to get just the right size.
