Ingredients
- 1/3 cup uncooked regular long grain white rice
- 2/3 cup water
- 4 - large green bell peppers
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- - dash of pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 - medium tomato, chopped
- 1 - 8oz can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar or what ever cheese you like, i use a italian blend
How To Make stuffed green peppers

Step 1Cook rice as directed on package.

Step 2Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut tops off peppers and remove core and seeds. In a large sauce pot bring enough water to a boil to cover peppers. Add peppers, cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside

Step 3In a large skillet, combine beef celery and onion and cook 8-10 min. or till beef is cooked through. Stir frequently. Drain

Step 4Add cooked rice, salt, pepper, ketchup and tomato, mix well. Spoon mixture into peppers. Put peppers in a ungreased shallow baking dish.

Step 5In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce, sugar and basil, mix well. Spoon half of the sauce over peppers. Bake for 30-40 minutes or till peppers are tender, spoon remaining sauce over peppers and sprinkle with cheese during the last 5 minutes of baking.
