I recently got a new panini maker. This one in particular that was delicious.

    8 oz flank steaks, cut about 3/4 inch thick
  • 1
    loaf ciabatta or focaccia bread, sliced horizontally
  • 8 slice
  • 3/4 c
    shredded mozzerella
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
    fresh basil
  • 2 tsp
    cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1
    clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp

How to Make Steak & Cheese Panini - Italian Style


  1. Preheat grill on high heat for 15 minutes. Season steak on all sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Grill the steak on high, about 8 minutes per side. Let rest about 20 minutes before slicing, thinly,on the bias.
  3. Assemble on the bread as follows: Spread each slice of bread with 1/2 the mayo, then top the bottm slice with steak, Cheese, salt, pepper, EVOO, pepper sauce, basil, & tomatoes and garlic. Top with the other slice of bread.
  4. Reduce grill to medium heat and cook sandwich for 2 mintues on each side, until cheese is melted.
