steak & cheese panini - italian style

I recently got a new panini maker. This one in particular that was delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 - 8 oz flank steaks, cut about 3/4 inch thick
  • 1 - loaf ciabatta or focaccia bread, sliced horizontally
  • 8 slices tomato
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzerella
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1 - clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon evoo

How To Make steak & cheese panini - italian style

  • Step 1
    Preheat grill on high heat for 15 minutes. Season steak on all sides with salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
    Grill the steak on high, about 8 minutes per side. Let rest about 20 minutes before slicing, thinly,on the bias.
  • Step 3
    Assemble on the bread as follows: Spread each slice of bread with 1/2 the mayo, then top the bottm slice with steak, Cheese, salt, pepper, EVOO, pepper sauce, basil, & tomatoes and garlic. Top with the other slice of bread.
  • Step 4
    Reduce grill to medium heat and cook sandwich for 2 mintues on each side, until cheese is melted.
