Tired of the same old hamburger or ground beef meal. Add a little kick, to the dish. As remember this can be a quick, "Honey my Boss is coming to dinner" or The In-laws are stopping bye" meal. lol We all get something like hat every once in a while.. :)

You can serve this with steamed green beans with butter spray and mash sweet potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    extra-lean ground beef
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1 medium
    slice thinly onion
  • 3/4 clove
    water
  • 2 tsp
    beef bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    instant coffee granules
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • ·
    nonstick cooking spray

How to Make Smothered Patties with Onion Au Jus

Step-by-Step

  1. Shape ground beef in to 4 pattes about 1/2-inch thick and 4-inch i diameter. Sprinkle with salt.
  2. Add patties to a large skillet coated with cooking spray, over med-high heat. Cook patties for 3 minutes on each side or until not longer pink.
  3. Add onion and cook 3 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently. Set aside with the patties.
  4. Add the remaining ingredient to the skillet. Bring to boil and continue boiling for 4 minutes. Return the patties and onions to skillet. Turn patties several time so coat well and cook 1 minute longer to heat through.
