This recipe uses boneless beef short ribs, but you can use bone-in -- just remove bones at the end of the cooking process.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup a p flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 4 - 4 1/2 pounds boneless beef short ribs (or 6-7 lbs. bone-in beef ribs)
- - oil or butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 3/4 cup wine or cider vinegar
- 1/2 - 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chili sauce (heinz or other brand)
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup worcestershire sauce (or to your taste)
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
How To Make slow cooker sweet & spicy short ribs

Step 1Spray interior of crockpot with vegetable spray.

Step 2Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a plastic gallon bag. Add ribs, a few at a time, and shake to coat.

Step 3Brown meat in a small amount of oil or butter in batches in a skillet. Remove and transfer to slow cooker. Reserve drippings.

Step 4Combine remaining ingredients in the skillet. Stir ingredients with drippings until mixture comes to a boil. Pour over ribs.

Step 5Cook on low 8-9 hours or until meat is tender, but not dry. Watch carefully. ***My ribs were tender and falling off the bone in 8 hours.

Step 6Serve ribs topped with sauce.
