Got this recipe from my grandmother 50 years ago. I have tweaked it over the years and started cooking in a slow cooker instead of on stove or in oven for hours. You will love this. Enjoy !

Ingredients

beef stew meat
2 Tbsp
cooking oil
2 medium
potatoes, peeled and cubed-- 2 cups
2 medium
carrots cut into 1/2 " pieces --1 cup
1 medium
onion slicd into thin wedges
1/2 c
celery - sliced
1 pkg
frozen cut green beans (9 oz)
1 Tbsp
instant beef bouillon granules
2 tsp
worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp
dried thyme, crushed
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
pepper
1 can(s)
tomatoes (16 oz) cut up
1 1/2 c
water

How to Make Slow Cooker Irish Stew

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cut meat into 1/2-inch cubes.
  • 2In a large skillet, brown meat, half at a time, in hot oil. Drain well.
  • 3Meanwhile, in a 3-1/2-, 4-, 5-, or 6-quart crockery cooker, combine potatoes, carrots, onion, and celery. Add frozen beans, bouillon granules, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir in browned meat, undrained tomatoes, and water
  • 4Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on high-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours. Makes 6 servings.
