This is an adapted recipe from the Mississippi Roast discovered on face book. The vegetables takes it from good to GREAT! And the aroma while cooking . . . Simply heavenly!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless chuck roast
  • 1 package hidden valley ranch dressing (dry)
  • 1 package au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 - red onion
  • 1 large carrot cut in 1 inch chunks
  • 1 stalk celery ribs
  • - fresh ground pepper (optional)
  • 1 stick butter
  • 5 - pepperoncini peppers
  • 8 - yukon gold potatoes small

How To Make slow cooked chuck roast

  • Step 1
    Place roast in a slow cooker. Rub all surfaces of the chuck roast with the dry Au Jus Mix. Sprinkle the remaining on top.
  • Step 2
    Sprinkle the ranch dressing across the top of the roast
  • Step 3
    Place butter in the middle of the roast and surround it with the peppere
  • Step 4
    Cook on high for two hours
  • Step 5
    Add the vegetables sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. Set cooker on the low setting and continue to cook for three hours, check for doneness and continue cooking as needed.
