This is my mom's recipe, but I have spiced it up! It has more beef too! Good old comfort food!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 - onion, chopped
- 1/2 - of a green pepper, chopped
- 1 cup raw rice
- 3 cups tomato sauce (3 - 8 oz cans)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 1 3/4 cups hot water
- OPTIONAL ITEM
- 4 ounces can, chunky style portabella mushrooms, drained
How To Make tasty! spanish rice

Step 1Brown the ground beef, onion and green pepper in a large pot.

Step 2Add the raw rice and mix. Add the tomato sauce and hot water, stir. Add remaining ingredients.

Step 3Mix and bring to a quick boil and simmer for 25 minutes.

Step 4*** I omit the green peppers and I add the can of mushrooms. I HATE GREEN PEPPERS!!! LOL!!!!
