simple and delicious salisbury steaks
This is such an easy dish I can have it on the table in 30 minutes. It's great after a busy day at work or when unexpected guests stop in it is easy to double even triple.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- - cooking spray, or olive oil
- 1 package 8 oz. presliced fresh white mushrooms
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons ruby port wine, or dry sherry
- 1 jar beef gravy
- - salt & pepper to taste
- - tyme sprig

Step 1Combine first 5 ingredients; mix well. Shape mixture into 4 (1/2 inch thick) patties.

Step 2Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray (or Olive oil); place over medium heat until hot. Add patties; cook 4 minutes on each side or until done. Remove patties from skillet, and set aside.

Step 3Increase heat to medium high. Add mushrooms, onion, tyme, and salt & pepper to taste; saute 3 minutes. Add Port; saute 1 minute.

Step 4Stir in gravy, thyme and salt and pepper to taste; return patties to skilet. Cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Step 5Garnish with thyme sprigs, if desired.
