This is basically my mother-in-laws meatloaf meal in one dish. A real comfort food.

Ingredients
- - simon's family meatloaf recipe
- 1 can whole kernal corn, drained
- - your favorite mashed potatoes (mom likes the idahoan package)
How To Make simon's family meat pie

Step 1Layer the uncooked meatloaf into a large glass pie plate and form like a pie shell.

Step 2Cook in 400 degree oven for 30-40 minutes until meat temp. reaches 160 degrees.

Step 3While the meatloaf is cooking make your favorite mashed potatoes. Open and drain one can of corn.

Step 4When the meat shell is done remove from oven, drain any grease then fill with the corn, then arrange the mashed potatoes to look like whipped topping and seal the edges with the potatoes. Put back in oven until you see the peaks of the potatoes a little brown.

Step 5You can also spread a little shredded cheese on top og potatoes before putting in oven for the second time and remove when melted about 10 minutes. (I use 2 american cheese slices cut in strips.)
