My husband loves casseroles and this is one of my favorites. He likes it too.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or bison
- 16 ounces frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 medium onion, cut up
- 1 small package of tater tots
- 8 ounces sliced portabello mushrooms
- 1/2 cup cheese, shredded
- 2 packages brown gravy mix
How To Make sheperd's pie

Step 1Brown meat on medium heat in a skillet until cooked. Salt and pepper to taste.

Step 2add onion and mushrooms to meat. Cover and cook until mushrooms and onions are cooked through. approximately 5 minutes.

Step 3Add gravy mix to 1 1/2 cups of water.

Step 4Stir gravy into meat mixture and cook until gravy has thickened.

Step 5Remove from heat and spread meat mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 pan.

Step 6Add mixed vegetables and spread evenly over meat.

Step 7Place tater tots over the top of vegetables. You can place them in any order that you desire for funness. but the veggies need to be completely covered.

Step 8Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. remove pan from oven.

Step 9Sprinkle cheese over the top of the pie and return it to the oven for another 5 minutes.
