1 1/2 lb
ground beef or bison
16 oz
frozen mixed vegetables
1 medium
onion, cut up
1 small
package of tater tots
8 oz
sliced portabello mushrooms
1/2 c
cheese, shredded
2 pkg
brown gravy mix

How to Make Sheperd's Pie


  • 1Brown meat on medium heat in a skillet until cooked. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 2add onion and mushrooms to meat. Cover and cook until mushrooms and onions are cooked through. approximately 5 minutes.
  • 3Add gravy mix to 1 1/2 cups of water.
  • 4Stir gravy into meat mixture and cook until gravy has thickened.
  • 5Remove from heat and spread meat mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
  • 6Add mixed vegetables and spread evenly over meat.
  • 7Place tater tots over the top of vegetables. You can place them in any order that you desire for funness. but the veggies need to be completely covered.
  • 8Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. remove pan from oven.
  • 9Sprinkle cheese over the top of the pie and return it to the oven for another 5 minutes.
