This is a very old recipe and a very good one.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 cup canned whole kernek corn, drained
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 3/4 pound ground beef, raw
  • 5 slices bacon, raw, cut-up

How To Make seven-layer casserole

  • Step 1
    Place rice and corn in baking pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix tomato sauce and water. Pour half over rice and corn. Add layers of onion, green pepper and beef. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add rest of tomato mixture, top with raw, cut-up pieces of bacon. Cover tightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer. Makes 4-6 servings.
