I came up with this dish one night when trying to think of a different way to fix sirloin tips. It can be fixed on the stove or in a crockpot. If using a crockpot, cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours. Happy eating and let me know what you think.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


1 1/2 pounds of stew meat or sirloin tips
1 can french onion soup
1 envelop lipton savory herb soup mix
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup of you favorite mushrooms, (i use a combo of white and portabella)
3 cloves of garlic minced
1/2 cup of red wine or beef broth
3 oz of cream cheese
olive oil for browning

How to Make Savory Beef


  • 1In a bowl combine the Lipton mix and wine, whisking until the mix is dissolved. Add the French Onion soup and tomato sauce
  • 2Brown the meat in the olive oil. Add the onion and mushroomns and saute until the onions are translucent.
  • 3Pour sauce mix over meat and simmer for about an hour and 15 minutes. Add the cream cheese and let it cook for another 10-15 minutes until cheese has melted. Serve over rice or noddles
