This is great served with fresh made cornbread.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces dried beef(such as hormel in jar)
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup celery, sliced diagonally (bite size)
  • 2 pounds of pork and beans with tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make saturday special-dried beef casserole

  • Step 1
    Rinse dried beef with boiling water and shred. Brown beef in margarine in a saucepan and add onion and celery and cook until tender. Add beans and Worcestershire sauce to mixture. Pour into a sprayed 1 1/2 quart casserole and bake at 350^ for about 35 minutes. Top with the cheese and bake 5 minutes longer. Serve with hot corn bread.
