I made this pasta salad as a side dish for a function at our local bar and everyone fell in love with it. Now I make a big bowl, sit it on the bar, and walk away. I watch everyone go for it and watch the smiles on their face as they eat it. And believe me, there is never none left when we leave. This recipe makes a lot and can be cut down for family meals. This can be either a side dish or a main course. It is simple and easy to make so I hope you try and enjoy it. I have made this with regular diced ham if I didn't have a ham already smoked.

How To Make ro's macaroni and smoked ham salad

Test Kitchen Tips
When adding the additional Miracle Whip add just enough to make it wet. You may not need all the remaining dressing.
  • Cook macaroni and run under cold water.
    1
Cook macaroni as per directions. After the macaroni is done rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Cool it off before adding the other ingredients.
  • Dice green onions, tomatoes, and ham.
    2
Dice green onions and tomato. Chop smoked ham into small bite-size chunks.
  • Place in a bowl with the macaroni.
    3
Place into a bowl with the cooled macaroni and mix.
  • Add half of the Miracle Whip, pepper, and celery seed.
    4
Add half of the Miracle Whip, pepper, and celery seeds to the macaroni mixture.
  • Stir and chill.
    5
Chill. Let sit for a few hours (or overnight).
  • Stir in more Miracle Whip before serving.
    6
Before serving add more of the remaining Miracle Whip to the salad since the macaroni absorbs the dressing. Mix well and serve.
