pj's wild rice hot dish

I came across this recipe on another site, it struck me that with some tweeks it would be a winner.... and voila it was! My husband after one plate said, "honey this is a keeper, I hope you remember what you did". I went to the counter and wrote down what I did, and here it is. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did, 2 platefuls later.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup long grain rice, uncooked
  • 1/2 cup wild rice, uncooked
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup, reduced sodium
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 can mushroom pieces with liquid
  • 1 can bamboo shoots
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 - green pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped

How To Make pj's wild rice hot dish

  • Step 1
    Cook rice according to package directions. Brown ground beef, add onion, green pepper, celery and garlic. Cook until onions are translucent. When rice is done cooking place all ingredients in a large covered casserole, mix together.
  • Step 2
    Bake 45 minutes covered at 350 degrees. Let stand covered for additional 10 minutes. Do not add any additional salt.
