A perfectly Cuban seasoned ground beef dish, can also be made with ground chicken, turkey or pork

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon onions
  • 1 tablespoon green bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon green olives
  • small can roasted pimentos
  • - salt /pepper
  • few sprig cilantro (chopped)
  • few sprig parsley(chopped)
  • pinch cumin
  • half cup chopped tomatoes
  • splash - red wine

How To Make picadillo

  • Step 1
    saute, onions, green bell peppers in olive oil about 5 mins, add diced garlic cloves
  • Step 2
    next add the ground beef and brown, mixing all together add, the 2 bay leaves, olives, cumin, chopped tomatoes, chopped roasted pimentos, chopped cilantro,culantro & parsley...add a splash of wine (preferably a red).....salt to taste....
  • Step 3
    simmer & enjoy with white rice & plantains...YUM
