  • 1 1/2 lb
    sirloin steak cut into strips
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 1 c
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp
    ginger root, minced
  • 1
    medium onion, sliced
  • 2
    green peppers, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 2 medium
    tomatoes, sliced into wedges

How to Make Pepper Steak


  1. heat oil in a skillet over med. high heat. add the steak and cook until browned, about 5 min.
  2. add the water, garlic, ginger, and onion. heat to a boil, then cover and simmer for 10 min.
  3. add the green peppers to the pan and continue to simmer with the lid on for about 5 minutes or until the peppers are tender.
  4. in a small bowl stir together the soy sauce, sugar and cornstarch. add it to the pan and bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add the tomatoes and heat through. Serve over rice.
