My mom used to make this for my dad when he was workin in the lumber business. The smell of it used to drive me crazy enough to take a taste when no one was lookin. It tasted so good. Especially on mashed potatoes. fills you up nicely also.

Ingredients
- 1 pound beef round steak
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 small onion
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 can tomatoes, canned whole/cut
- 2 cans mushrooms, canned
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
How To Make mom's swiss steak

Step 1fry bacon and onion together in electric skillet. Cook until onion is done. Remove bacon and onion and set aside.

Step 2Cut round steak into 4 sections. Set aside

Step 3Put flour and garlic salt, pepper into bag and shake until well blended.

Step 4Add steak sections to flour mixture. Shake until well coated. Place into the bacon dripping and lightly brown. Remove from skillet.

Step 5Add the bacon and onions back to skillet and turn to simmer. Add the meat. Pour can of whole tomatoes over the meat. Simmer for about 1 1/2 hour.
