This something my mom made a lot of. We had 9 kids at home. This went along way. I just made one change to it. When my dad would make this he would use eather ground buffalo,or ground deer meat. I would like to thank my sis for given me this recipe.

Ingredients

1-1/2 lb
ground chuck (when dad made this he would use ground buffalo
1 large
sweet onion chopped
1 large
can tomato sauce.
1 can(s)
tomato paste
2 clove
garlic
2-3 c
long grain rice, cooked
1-1/2 tsp
bacon fat for cooking meat
1 1/2 tsp
sugar
1 1/2 tsp
salt and pepper
2 c
beef broth, reduced sodium

How to Make MOM's GOULASH

Step-by-Step

  • 1in a large stock pan add bacon fat and ground chuck. Cook till no longer pink. In a med skillet,add bacon fat onions,and diced garlic,cook till transparent.
  • 2Add onions,garlic,tomato sauce,tomato paste,and 1-1/2 cups of beef broth. Add 1-1/2 tsp of suger,1tsp of salt &pepper . Cover and let simmer on med heat for 45 min. stir often to prevent sticking. Serve with french bread.
