How To Make meatloaf - hubby's favorite
-
Step 1Break up regular oats by placing in baggie and pounding them with a meat mallet or rolling pin. You don't want fine crumbs, but just broken pieces of oats.
-
Step 2Preheat oven to 350*. Spray a shallow 9x13 baking pan with PAM.
-
Step 3Mix all ingredients together well. Using your hands, form into a 9 inch long loaf, packing together firmly with no air pockets.
-
Step 4Place meatloaf in pan and pour a little water in bottom of dish - about 1/4 inch deep.
-
Step 5Bake 1 hour, uncovered. Mix glaze ingredients together. Spread on top of meatloaf.
-
Step 6Continue to bake, uncovered, for approx. 30 minutes more. Check center of meatloaf to ensure juices are clear - no pink inside. Internal temperature should be 155*. Meatloaf crust will be dark brown.
-
Step 7Remove from baking pan. Let cool 5 - 10 minutes for easier slicing. Use a sharp, thin knife to cut, which will make neater, less crumbly slices.
