lynn's smoke-house roast

I had to share this because it is the BEST thing I have ever grilled/smoked in my life. I would normally smoke meat or poultry the entire cooking time on the smoker. However, because I had already been outside for hours grilling, I couldn't take the heat any longer and took it off the smoker after about 1 1/2 hrs. Then finished it up in my elec. roaster in the house. This is a 7-bone roast that has an incredible mild mesquite flavor, is melt in your mouth tender, and is as juicy as a reservoir. It truly tastes like meat from a smokehouse.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds 7 bone roast (two roasts/2 lbs each)
  • - olive oil
  • - mrs. dash original blend
  • - smoker
  • - mesquite wood
  • - spray bottle of water
  • - elec. roasting pan or crock pot

How To Make lynn's smoke-house roast

  • Step 1
Rub both sides of meat with olive oil and Mrs. Dash original blend.
  • Step 2
Smoke roast for about 3-4 hrs. flipping over every half hour and spraying with water.
  • Step 3
Remove from smoker and wrap tightly in foil. I let mine cool then refrigerated it until the following day, but it can go directly into the roaster or crock pot.
  • Step 4
I placed mine in the elec. roaster on a rack, with 1 cup of water in the bottom. I cooked at 300° for about 2 hrs.
