Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 2 c
    butternut squash,peeled;cut into 1/4-inch chunks
  • 3 lb
    ground turkey
  • 1/2 c
    smoky barbecue sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground cumin
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce or hot sauce to taste
  • 1
    onion,minced
  • 2
    red peppers,chopped
  • 2 c
    dark beer or ale
  • 1 c
    tomato sauce
  • 2 c
    ccanned pinto beans,drained
  • 2 c
    frozen corn,thawed

How to Make LIGHTENED CHILI

Step-by-Step

  1. Warm 1 tbs.olive oil in skillet on high heat.Add squash;saute.Transfer to a large pot.Return skillet to heat:add remaining oil and turkey.Brown,then add it to the squash.
  2. Add next (10)ingredients and place pot over medium heat.Bring to a simmer and lower heat;then cook for (30)minutes.Stir frequently.Add water if necessary to get to your desired thickness or looseness.Stir,remove from heat,add to bowls,and serve.
