Being disappointed with most of the taco salads I ordered in restaurants I began making my own at home. Always with fresh ingredients.

    lean ground beef
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning
  • 1 can(s)
    black beans
  • 1/4 c
    salsa
  • 1
    avocado
  • 1
    cucumber
  • 1/4 c
    tortilla chips, crumbled
  • 2 c
    mexican blend cheeses, shredded
  • 1 small
    onion
  • 1 can(s)
    black olives
  • 1 pkg
    cherry tomatoes
  • 1
    bag of mixed salad greens
  • ·
    taco sauce or salsa for topping
  • ·
    sour cream for topping

How to Make Taco Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large skillet brown the meat, drain off grease and return to skillet. Then add black beans juice and taco seasoning, stir and heat through.
  2. Peel cucumber, remove seeds and cut into small pieces.
  3. Wash all fresh vegetables and slice, dice or chop
  4. Build salads on dinner plates as desired using, meat and bean mixture, crumbles tortilla chips, vegetables, and cheeses.
  5. Drizzle each salad with taco sauce or salsa as desired and top with a dollop of sour cream
