Being disappointed with most of the taco salads I ordered in restaurants I began making my own at home. Always with fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 - avocado
  • 1 - cucumber
  • 1/4 cup tortilla chips, crumbled
  • 2 cups mexican blend cheeses, shredded
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 can black olives
  • 1 package cherry tomatoes
  • 1 - bag of mixed salad greens
  • - taco sauce or salsa for topping
  • - sour cream for topping

How To Make taco salad

  • Step 1
    In a large skillet brown the meat, drain off grease and return to skillet. Then add black beans juice and taco seasoning, stir and heat through.
  • Step 2
    Peel cucumber, remove seeds and cut into small pieces.
  • Step 3
    Wash all fresh vegetables and slice, dice or chop
  • Step 4
    Build salads on dinner plates as desired using, meat and bean mixture, crumbles tortilla chips, vegetables, and cheeses.
  • Step 5
    Drizzle each salad with taco sauce or salsa as desired and top with a dollop of sour cream
