k c rub steak cheddar burgers w/ peppers & onions
I love Kansas City Barbeque, and when I found this KC Rub in my local grocery store I had to give it a try. I got home late and didn't have a lot of time to make dinner, so I decided to make these Steak Burgers using Ground Chuck. To make the burgers more complete I decided I would sauté peppers & onions in the skillet where I made the burgers. Added a few pats of butter, and Steak seasoning till they were tender. Topped the burgers with Sharp cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes, added Potato salad & served them on a Long Hoagie Bun & dinner was served. I love that KC seasoning!!

How To Make k c rub steak cheddar burgers w/ peppers & onions
-
Step 1PLEASE NOTE: Because I used Hoagie Rolls, I shaped the burgers long to fit the buns. You may also want to make your burgers thinner, and get more burgers, but I wanted generous size burgers, so I made 6 burgers total. I purposely DID NOT USE SALT, but you decide.
-
Step 2Add the meat to a large bowl, then add each of the spices, then mix into the meat. Try to use equal amounts of ground meat to make each burgers.
-
Step 3Shape them all and then place them on a large platter.
-
Step 4Spray a 16 inch skillet with non stick cooking spray, or cook in separate batches IF USING A SMALLER SKILLET. Then heat over medium low heat. Add the burgers, and cook for about 7 or 8 minutes till they start to brown on one side, or cook as desired. Flip to other side and cook about 3 minutes, then remove to a platter.
-
Step 5From the residual fat left in the skillet add 3 pats of butter if needed, and then add all of the sliced peppers and onions, stir & cook till half way crisp tender.
-
Step 6Add the burgers back to the skillet, and continue to cook till both the veggies and burgers are cooked to desired preference.
-
Step 7Add sliced cheese on burgers, cover with a lid for about 2 minutes to allow cheese to melt. Turn off heat, and serve immediately while still hot. Add desired condiments, Tomatoes, lettuce, mustard, catsup, or Mayo, pickles.
-
Step 8Serve on buns, and top with the peppers and onions, & other condiments as desired. Add fries, potato salad, onion Rings or what ever you prefer. ENJOY
